Not getting any better
We apparently have this new policy in our group regarding our timesheets and how they need to be filled out on a daily basis. I don't have a problem with this. In fact, I currently have a timesheet I fill out daily. What I have a problem with is the format they want us to do it in.
They created a spreadsheet containing a tab assigned to each person. You go into the spreadsheet and input your hours. Keep in mind that this spreadsheet is not password-protected, so about 200 employees who are not a part of our group have access to it. Also keep in mind that if you were the last person to input your hours before I went in there, your timesheet would be the one that shows when I go in.
I don't want to know the hours you work and I don't want you to know the hours I work. What is recorded on the timesheet is between an employee and their management. It is not the business of all of the other employees in that area.
So being the pig-headed person I am, I'll be talking with management tomorrow about their little timesheet. I will gladly save a copy of my personal timesheet on the shared drive where they can access it and I will just as gladly password-protect that spreadsheet and give management the password. I just will not be filling out the timesheet they want us to fill out until they figure out a better way to do it.

That, I believe, is against some type of HR privacy law. It's not the business of other employees what hours you work, what hours you don't work, and when you do or don't miss time at work. We had a big ass company email sent out about it not too long ago.
