Rain, rain, go away...
Dad came by to take me to the races down at Elko this evening. It'd been raining off and on all day (the last few weeks really) but we thought we were going to be able to get some racing in tonight. Alas, we got down there, got in to the grandstand, and the sky opened up. I mean opened up. They decided to call the races and rescheduled them for July 29. So we ended up at BW3's instead and watched the Nextel Cup race from Richmond. I didn't get to watch the races live tonight, but at least there was racing elsewhere in the world. All in all, not a bad birthday evening with pops.
And to make it all better, my NASCAR boyfriend Kasey Kahne won his first ever Cup race tonight. After an awesome rookie year where he had a ton of top 10 and top 5's and a few heartbreaks where he was in the lead with only a couple of laps left and a tire went down or he got involved in a wreck, he finally one one. And he is so damned hot!!!!!
And.... my favorite driver, Rusty, managed to move up a couple of more spots in the standings. Yep, I love me some racing.
