Different things

I'm now in Milwaukee. My totally awesome roommate Wendy agreed to bring me to the airport this morning, which means we left the house right around 5:45. Damn but that's early.

We got here and went directly to my companies facility and spent until 4:00 in meetings. Always great fun, but at least this is informative and hopefully will help to resolve some system issues we've been experiencing for a couple of years.

Did you know that I can't access Wendy's site from the hotel computer? Because the f-bomb was dropped on the site, it comes up as possibly offensive. They give you the option to submit a request to unblock the site, so I did, because really, what can be so horrible about a blog?!

On to the next topic:

I got a message from my mom this afternoon that my grandma was out of surgery. They did a mastectomy and removed lymph nodes, but I'm not sure exactly what type mastectomy they did. Apparently there are different levels and degrees. The fact that I'm learning far more about this then I ever hoped to know really sucks.

My mom said that the surgery went well, she should be able to go home tomorrow, and according to the docs, she should be able to come up to Minnesota for the holidays. They sent everything off for testing and they should have the results in two or three days, but the doctor thought it looked like it was localized and they were able to get everything. I still haven't had a chance to talk to her, but I hope to have some more information later tonight.

I should be able to give you a more complete update after I talk to her.

Note to self, when they tell you it's time to start in on the mammograms, listen to them. It's better to find this crap early and get it taken care of before it progesses beyond the point of surgery.
