How do you get a 4-month old to laugh uncontrollably? You look at him and say "a-boom" as you sit him down on his bottom.

My mom, brother and sister in law went out today to see a play at the Guthrie, so it was Aunty Jenny's job to watch the babies.

I swear to you, all you have to do to get Cohen to laugh is look at him cross-eyed. Andy was showing us some video he had taken one evening as he was getting them ready for bed, and Cohen sure does take after his daddy. He absolutely loves the camera. Andy had set the camcorder down on the ground and left it running while he was putting Lily in her pajamas and Cohen would occasionally glance at him, but his gaze always returned to the camera. I can almost visualize the way he'll be when he gets older. He'll be the kid that tries to jump into every picture he sees, makes faces, does the bunny-ear thing to everyone. Of course, when we were in Mexico a few years ago, his dad sat on a rock and waited for one of us to show up and take a picture of him, so it won't be his fault that he's that way.

Lily takes a little more work to get laughing, but once you get her started, she goes pretty good. I think what she really wants to do is get mobile. She's got a lovely bald spot on the back of her head because she pushes herself around on her back. Pretty soon it will be crawling, and then the walking. She's just a little impatient and wants to start right now.

All I really know is that I love these kids. As much as I love them as little babies, I can't wait for them to grow a little more. I'm so excited to see the type of kids they're going to be.
